The past few weeks have kept the NICERC team in the skies and on the road!
In the months of March and April, we’ve attended the NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) National Conference in Atlanta, ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) Empower18 in Boston, and the USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington D.C.
We met many enthusiastic educators at NSTA and Empower18 where we listened to their particular needs and shared our free curricular resources. Teachers ranging from physics, math, computer science, gifted, and even robotics clubs sponsors walked away with access to hours of content to incorporate into their lessons.
Teachers also walked away with some fun swag as they built their own breadboards! With just a few inexpensive components, attendees lit up two blinking LED’s and looked *very cool* wearing their builds around the conference.
Last weekend, we set up shop with our DHS partners at the USA Science and Engineering Festival Expo in Washington D.C., where we met over 160,000 students and families inspired by STEM. Helping these young visitors build a breadboard for the first time, engage with a robot, and create a program in Scratch was an energizing reminder of why we do what we do.
Check out these snapshots from the festival.
See you on the road!
